Close the clips.

Turn on both the printer and the PC.

A start-up page should print. If it doesn’t, see the “Printer Problem
Checklist” in chapter 6, “Troubleshooting,” of the

Operation guide.

Turn off both the printer and
the PC.

Connect the PC and the
printer using a parallel cable.

Connect the 25-pin end of

the cable to the PC’s parallel
port.

Tighten the screws.

Attach the 36-pin end of the
cable to the printer’s parallel
port (it’s labeled
“PARALLEL”).
