9) Hit the <enter> key on the PC keyboard several times. You should see a prompt
returned by the ePAQ, in response to the key press.
10) Save the HyperTerminal setup (File/Save As) for future use.
14.4.4 Local Test Panel Connection (USB Port)
1) Turn on the ePAQ power. Verify that the front panel heartbeat (HBT) LED begins
flashing.
2) Connect the USB cable between the ePAQ USB port 1 (J3) and the PC.
3) Start the ePAQ-9400 HyperTerminal session.
4) Hit <enter> several times.
5) You should see a ePAQ prompt appear on the HyperTerminal screen.
14.4.5 Remote Test Panel Connection (Ethernet Port)
Test Panel functions (except for controls) may be accessed remotely through
Ethernet Port 5 (J6 or J7) as follows:
1) Create a new HyperTerminal session.
2)
When prompted for connection parameters (“Connect To” box display), for
“Connect Using:” select TCP/IP.
3)
Another HyperTerminal window will appear asking for “Host address” and “Port
number”.

The “Host address” to enter here is the MAC address of the ePAQ (programmed
using the ConfigWiz 2.0 software. See the ConfigWiz 2.0 Guide for further
information.)
5)
The “Port number” is always 57222.
6) After entering this information, press the <enter> key on the PC and verify that a
prompt is returned from the ePAQ.
7) Save the HyperTerminal session for future use (File/ Save As).
14.5 Security
Test Panel security can be set up using the ConfigWiz 2.0 configuration software.
Using ConfigWiz 2.0 Admin, test panel security is either enabled or disabled, and
user ID and passwords are set.
When security is disabled, the test panel responds to queries and commands from
any user.
