6.2 Test run
WARNING:
•
Make sure that the device cannot slide or tip over and injure people or cause material damage.
•
In some installation cases, the pump and surrounding fluid may be hot. Risk of burning.
•
Make sure that no one stays near the running device. The machine will jerk in the opposite direction to
the rotation of the impeller.
CAUTION:
Check the direction of rotation of the pump. Reversing the direction of rotation of the pump when it
is submerged in water will damage the pump, which may cause overheating, electric shock or fire.
NOTE:
Pump check:
• Check any signs of pump or cable damage.
• Check the oil level in the oil housing.
• Remove the fuses or open the circuit breaker and check that the impeller can turn freely.
•
Check that the sensor control system (if installed) is working.
A. Run the pump for a moment (1 to 2 seconds) and check that it is turning in the correct direction.
WARNING:
Before reconnecting the reversing connectors, check that
the power supply (i.e. circuit breaker) is properly
disconnected and that the impeller has come to a complete
stop to avoid serious accidents, including electric shock, short circuit,
or injury.
Use the phase rotation indicator to check the direction of rotation of
the pump.
ATTENTION:
When using the phase sequence tester, please read the operating
instructions.
Two methods of checking the correct rotation of the pump
1. When looking at the impeller, this wheel should turn to the left,
as shown in the picture on the right.
2. Looking at the pump from above
Since the impeller is not visible, the best way to check for rotation is to
determine the pump's backward kicking motion after it is started. the
pump's backward kicking motion should point to the left, as shown in
the figure to the right
NOTE: For an intelligent pump, you should use a metal screwdriver
body and connect the water level sensor and rod, or the pump will not
start.
NOTE : For pumps with float - you must lift the float, or the motor will
not start.
To reverse the direction of rotation, follow these countermeasures for a three-phase power supply:
