HARDWARE PROBLEMS
Problem
Probable Causes
Possible Solutions
Cards are not being taken from the
card holder at the back.
1.
Cards are stuck together with static.
2.
Card feed Roller may be dirty and not
gripping the Cards.
3.
Card feed Roller is not rotating.
1.
Separate the Cards to remove the
static charge build-up.
2.
Clean the Printer using the
recommended Magicard cleaning
Cards.
3.
Remove the base and check the
integrity of the Roller, Drive Belt
and Motor.
Printer switches off automatically
after a period of time.
1.
Loose PSU connection on the back of
the Printer.
2.
Faulty external PSU.
1.
Replace controller PCB or PSU if
necessary. Call Magicard
Technical Support.
2.
Replace PSU. Call Magicard
Technical Support.
Error “Cannot lift Head” when the
Printer is switched on.

Print Head is not being cycled up/down
when the Printer is switched on.

Ensure the Cam components are
all fitted correctly on the left side of
the Printer.
2.
Check the operation of the Cam
Position Sensor.
Error “Cannot Drop Head” during
printing.

Print Head is not being moved up/down
during the printing process
