Installing The Motherboard
This section is a brief generic explanation of how
to install the motherboard in a system housing
(“case” or “chassis”) and connect other internal
system components to it. If you are not experi-
enced at installing and assembling computer
hardware we recommend you consider having a
qualified service technician install and assemble
your system for you. If you will do the work your-
self, make sure to take precautions against damage
from static electric discharge while installing and
connecting components.
Installing in a System Housing
Since housing designs vary considerably the sec-
tion provides general guidelines and notes the ba-
sic requirements. This motherboard is an ATX
board that requires an ATX style case and power
supply. The case should come with mounting
hardware for the motherboard and at least basic
instructions on how to install a motherboard. It is
advisable to check the case before you by it and
confirm that it has adequate hardware and instruc-
tions including a port cover panel that matches the
port configuration on the motherboard. If you are
upgrading the motherboard in a system you al-
ready own, you will need to make sure your sys-
tem case can accommodate this motherboard.
This is the basic procedure to install the mother-
board:
1.
Check over the hardware and instructions that
came with the system housing and make sure
everything is there and that you understand
the instructions.
