INSTALLATION
PRESSURE TESTING HEATER GAS CONNECTIONS
1. Open equipment shutoff valve (see Figure
10, page 14).
2. Open main gas valve located on or near
gas meter for natural gas or open pro-
pane/LP supply tank valve.
3. Make sure control knob of heater is in the
OFF position.
4. Check all joints from equipment shutoff
valve to control valve (see Figure 11 or
12, page 14). Apply a noncorrosive leak
detection fluid to all joints. Bubbles form-
ing show a leak.
5. Correct all leaks at once.
6. Light heater (see
Lighting Instructions
on
page 18 or 19). Check all other internal
joints for leaks.
7. Turn off heater (see
To Turn Off Gas Ap-

, page 19 or 20).

BATTERY INSTRUCTIONS
CAUTION: Do not mix old and
new batteries. Do not mix alka-
line, standard (carbon - zinc), or
rechargeable (nickel - cadmium)
batteries. Do not dispose of
batteries in fire, batteries may
explode or leak.
• Batteries are included.
• Remove batteries when depleted.
• Install/replace the batteries according to the
type and quantity stated in table to the right.
• Do not mix old and new batteries. New bat-
teries should be the same brand for best
results.
• Be sure to observe proper polarity (+/-)
when installing or replacing the batteries.
Damage due to improper battery installation
may void the warranty on the product.
• For remote control systems, maximize bat-
tery life by turning off the receiver when it
is not in use.
• For long periods of non-operation, remove
batteries from all components for safety.
