Compression plates
do not move or do not
move to the correct
position.
Compression setting is
incorrect.
Ask store to verify that the compression setting is
correct.
Motor failure.
Disconnect motor from PCB. Connect the motor to
an alternative supply (e.g. 9 V battery) to verify if
motor is unresponsive.
Replace motor.
Encoder is set improperly or
has failed.
Reset to home position:
1. Turn toaster power off.
2. Disconnect power to the motor.
3. Using an alternative power supply (e.g. 9 V
battery), walk the motor until the distance
between the platen and the compression plate is
½". (Verify the gap setting on the HEEL side.)
4. Reconnect power to the toaster. (Do NOT
reconnect motor to PCB.)
5. Press the PRINCE CASTLE Logo button on the
correct control panel. Hold the logo button until
the display reads “Program Mode”.
NOTE: The corresponding control panel is on the
opposite side of the toaster from the encoder.
6. Use the UP arrow button, scroll to “Volume
Level”.
7. Press both the right and left arrows at the same
time. The display will change to “Set Home
Switch”.
8. Locate the two set screws on the collar of the
encoder. Loosen both screws.
9. Using the Allen Key, SLOWLY rotate the collar of
the encoder until a tone sounds.
10. Tighten the set screws.
NOTE: When tightening the set screws, the encoder
collar may move slightly and the tone will disappear.
Stay as close to the tone position as possible, but it is
not necessary to be exactly on top of the tone
position.
11. Press the PRINCE CASTLE Logo button to exit
the Program Mode.
12. Disconnect the toaster power and reconnect the
motor to the PCB.
If encoder cannot be reset to
the home position, replace
the encoder.
If replacing the encoder fails
to solve the problem, replace
the PCB.
Faulty power PCB.
If both the motor and the encoder are in working
order, replace the power PCB.
Faulty main PCB.
If motor, encoder and power PCB are functioning
properly, replace the main PCB.
Key pad does not
respond.
Faulty switch PCB.
Replace switch PCB.
START button does
not activate toaster.
Faulty switch assembly.
Replace START button.
No display.
Faulty display or main PCB.
Replace main PCB.
