Maintaining the Printer 27
B.
CLEANING
THE CD TRAY AND PRINTER CASING
The bottom of the
CD Tray
will eventually become dirty
because it comes in contact with the feed rollers. If too much
dirt builds up, it can affect
print quality
. Use a clean, white rag
with a small amount of water or rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol to
clean the tray. Stronger cleaning solutions are NOT
recommended because they may damage the plastic material
from which the tray is manufactured.
Use these same items to wipe off the outside casing of the
printer. Always disconnect your printer's power cord before
cleaning. Resume printer operation only after the printer is
completely dry.
C.
CLEANING THE ROLLERS
Five different rubber rollers inside your printer may eventually
become dirty after extended use. The diagram below shows
their location. Four are located inside the printer's base unit,
the other one is located on the
Ribbon Cartridge
. All are gray-
colored, making them easy to locate.
To clean the rollers, use the materials in step A above. Wipe
the rollers until they become clean, turning them by hand to
completely clean the entire roller. Make certain that all internal
components are completely dry before re-inserting the Ribbon
Cartridge into the printer.
