TROUBLE SHOOTING
If the tool does not function properly or if it is missing parts, contact Princess Auto Ltd. for a solution. If unable to
do so, have a qualified technician service the tool.
Problem(s)
Possible cause(s)
Suggested solution(s)
Tool will not start.
Power cord not plugged in.
Plug the power cord into an outlet.
A fuse is blown or the circuit
breaker has tripped.
Replace fuse or reset circuit breaker.
Power cord is damaged.
Repair or replace power cord.
Faulty switch.
Repair or replace switch.
Faulty motor.
Repair or replace motor.
Poor tool performance.
Wrong gauge wire or length
of extension cord.
Refer to chart in section 'Electrical Safety' for
correct gauge wire and cord length.
The tool is overheating.
Turn off the tool and allow it to cool down to
room temperature.
Inspect and clean the ventilation slots.
Clogged or worn sandpaper. Replace sandpaper.
Too much polish on the
buffing bonnet.
Replace or clean the bonnet. Ensure that excessive
polish is not applied to the bonnet. Remove a
portion of the polish and retry.
Worn bonnet.
Replace the bonnet.
Abnormal noise or vibration. Bonnet is not secured.
Check the bonnet to ensure it is properly secured
to the pad. The outer edge of the bonnet must be
properly drawn over the top of the pad.
Loose screws.
Ensure that all screws are fully tightened.
