5. Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord to carry tools or to pull the plug from an outlet. Keep the cord
away from heat, oil, sharp edges, or moving parts. Do not operate this tool if the power cord is frayed or
damaged. Immediately replace damaged cords. Damaged cords increase the risk of electrical shock. Do
not modify the plug in any way.
6. When operating a power tool outside, use an outdoor extension cord marked "W-A” or "W”. These cords
are rated for outdoor use and reduce the risk of electrical shock. Use in conjunction with a Ground Fault
Circuit Interrupter (GFCI). If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, the use of a GFCI
reduces the risk of electrical shock. It is recommended that the GFCI should have a rated residual current
of 30 mA or less.
7. Avoid using an unnecessarily long extension cord. Choose a cord that is appropriate for the situation. A
cord that is too long and running across the floor can be more dangerous than helpful. Using a cord that is
too long or too thin could damage the tool. Unroll the cord completely to prevent it from overheating.
8. Place the electrical cord in a position that prevents it from coming into contact with the tool and from
getting caught by the work piece. The cord should always stay behind the tool.
BATTERY PRECAUTIONS
1. Keep the battery away from fire and sparks. Reinforce the grounding and down-lead.
2. The battery contains strong acid. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. If contact occurs, immediately wash
skin or flush eyes with water. If serious injury occurs, seek medical attention.
3. To prevent damage, avoid spilling gasoline, oil, or organic material on the battery.
USE AND CARE
1. This generator was designed for a specific function. Do not modify or alter this generator or use it for an
unintended purpose.
a. Do not tamper with the governor spring, the links, or any other parts in an attempt to increase the
engine’s speed.
2. Maintain the engine with care (see Maintenance).
3. Remove adjusting keys and wrenches from the engine before operation. A wrench or key that is left
attached to a rotating part of the tool increases the risk of personal injury.
UNPACKING
1. Carefully remove the parts and accessories from the packaging. Retain packaging material until you have
carefully inspected and satisfactorily installed or operated the generator.
2. Inspect the engine carefully to make sure the generator was not damaged during shipping.
WARNING! If any parts are missing, do not operate the engine until the missing parts are replaced.
Failure to do so could result in a malfunction and serious personal injury.
