Dual Monitor Mode
Dual Monitor Mode
lets installers connect a VGA connector to a Player,
allowing network administrator to view the primary screen desktop, and any
running applications like the Player software, without interrupting the digital
signage playout to the Secondary Screen connected to the second video
graphics output of the PC. Dual monitor mode will also allow you to clone the
output to support two monitors simultaneously.
Dual Monitor Hardware Setup
To set up Dual Monitor Mode:
1
Ensure both the primary monitor and the secondary monitor to be used
are powered on before powering up the PC, but only connect your
secondary monitor to your computer when instructed.
2
Start by connecting your primary monitor to the first connector on the
splitter cable.
3
Navigate to the Windows Display Settings to set your monitors.
4
When running Polycom Digital Signage Players in Dual Monitor Mode,
the Windows desktop displaying the Player application should be the
primary monitor in the Windows Display Settings, and the secondary
output screen should be the secondary display.
5
The easiest way to guarantee that Windows detects the primary monitor
as the desktop is to connect only the desktop computer monitor and turn
on the computer. Then go to Windows Display Settings where you will
see a greyed-out second monitor.
