When to use the PneuWalker™
The PneuWalker™ is a pneumatic unweighting system. It has a self contained airbox that is plugged
in overnight to provide lifting power all day. It is used in conjunction with the included Pneu
-
Vest™ to
perform low
-
impact kinetic exercises in an upright, functional position. Activities that require
assistance with balance and mobility may all be performed safely while unweighted. If a patient
loses their balance or starts to fall, the PneuWalker™ system will support the patient’s entire body
weight. The PneuWalker™ has an unweighting capacity of 0 to 300 lbs and can be used for full or
partial weight bearing activities and is safe to use with a patient up to 400 lbs.

Respiratory conditions which are exacerbated by pressure on the rib cage

Spinal fractures

Tumors on the spine.
These contraindications can sometimes be compensated for by taking off more weight through
the hips utilizing the Ischial Tuberosity Strap
