5.5.3 SNMP
Choose menu “ Management  SNMP ” to enable SNMP to allow the network management station to retrieve
statistics and status from the SNMP agent in the AP. Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is a popular
network monitoring and management protocol, used to refer to a collection of specifications for network
management that includes the protocol itself.

The page includes the following fields:
Object Description
Enable SNMP It shows the statistic count of sent packets on the wireless LAN interface.
Name An administratively-assigned name for this managed node.
Location The physical location of this node.
Contact The textual identification of the contact person for this managed node.
Read/Write Community Enter the community name that allows Read/Write access to the AP's SNMP
information. The community name can be considered a group password. The
default setting is “
private ”.
Read-Only Community Enter the community name that allows Read-Only access to the AP's SNMP
information. The community name can be considered a group password. The
default setting is “
public ”.
Trap Receiver IP
Address
Enter the IP address s of the SNMP trap receiver.
Apply Change Click “Apply Change” to save and apply the settings.
Reset Click “Reset” to reset the values to default.
