Pitney Bowes DA500/DA550 Operator Guide

2-Dimensional

The printer is capable of printing an USPS
Certified IBIP barcode as well as all types of
2-D barcodes defined for the countries (UK,
Canadian, Euro, Australia etc.) and others to
the defined standards. Reference applicable
Postal Standards.

FIM (Facing Identification Mark)

The printer is capable of printing an approved
FIM barcode to the defined standards. FIM is
used to “face” first class mail with certain types
of IBI (information-based indicia) mail. NOTE:
Pitney Bowes Envelope DesignerTM Plus
software does not support the creation of FIM
barcode.

Throughput

Up to 10,000 pieces per hour, depending on color,
print mode, media size, number of address lines, and
barcode imprinting. The following throughput specifi-
cations are based on using number 10 envelopes, size
10 point type, 3 lines per address, 18 characters per
line, no barcode, margin 5 inch (12.7 cm).
