Using the Advanced surround effects
The Advanced su rr ound featu r e c r eates a
va r iety of su rr ound effects. T r y diffe r ent modes
with va r ious soundt r acks to see which you like.
• Press ADV SURR repeatedly to select a
listening mode.

ACTION
– Designed fo r action movies with
dynamic soundt r acks.
•
DRAMA
– Designed fo r movies with lots of
dialog.
•
ENT.SHOW
– Suitable fo r musical sou r ces.
•
ADVANCED GAME
– Suitable fo r video
games.
•
SPORTS
– Suitable fo r s p o r ts pr og r ams.
•
CLASSICAL
– Gives a la r ge conce r t hall-
ty p e sound.
•
ROCK/POP
– C r eates a live conce r t sound
fo r r ock and/o r p o p music.
•
UNPLUGGED
– Suitable fo r acoustic
music sou r ces.
•
EXT.STEREO
– Gives multichannel sound
to a ste r eo sou r ce, using all of you r
s p eake r s.
Listening in stereo
When you select
STEREO
you will hea r the
sou r ce th r ough just the f r ont left and r ight
s p eake r s (and p ossibly you r subwoofe r
de p ending on you r s p eake r settings). Dolby
Digital o r DTS multichannel sou r ces a r e
downmixed to ste r eo.
In the Auto level cont r ol ste r eo mode (A.L.C.),
this unit equalizes p layback sound levels if
each sound level va r ies with the music sou r ce
r eco r ded in a p o r table audio p laye r .
• While listening to a source, press
STEREO/A.L.C. for stereo playback.
P r ess r e p eatedly to switch between:

STEREO
– The audio is hea r d with you r
su rr ound settings and you can still use the
Midnight, Loudness, Phase Cont r ol,
Sound Ret r ieve r and Tone functions.

– Listening in Auto level cont r ol
