Using the MULTI-ZONE controls
The following ste p s use the f r ont p anel cont r ols
to select sou r ces. See
MULTI-ZONE remote
controls
below.
1 Press the MULTI-ZONE ON/OFF button
on the front panel.
Each pr ess selects a MULTI-ZONE o p tion:
•
ZONE 2 ON
– Switches the MULTI-ZONE
featu r e on
•
ZONE 2 OFF
– Switches the MULTI-ZONE
featu r e off
The
ZONE
indicato r lights when the MULTI-
ZONE cont r ol has been switched ON.
2 Press CONTROL.
• When the r eceive r is on,

make su r e that
any o p e r ations fo r the sub zone a r e done
while
ZONE 2
shows in the dis p lay. If this is
not showing, the f r ont p anel cont r ols affect
the main zone only.
3 Use the INPUT SELECTOR dial to select
the source for the zone you have selected.
Fo r exam p le,
Z2
:
CDR
sends the sou r ce
connected to the
CDR
in p uts to the sub r oom
(
ZONE 2
).
• If you select
TUNER
, you can use the tune r
cont r ols to select a pr eset station (see
Saving station presets
on p age 34 if you’ r e
unsu r e how to do this).

4 When you’re finished, press CONTROL
again to return to the main zone controls.
You can also pr ess the
MULTI-ZONE ON/OFF
button on the f r ont p anel to switch off all
out p ut to the sub zone.

MULTI-ZONE remote controls

RECEIVER
button on the r emote
cont r ol, then with the
SHIFT
button pr essed,
pr ess the buttons below to o p e r ate the
co rr es p onding zone.
The following table shows the p ossible MULTI-
ZONE r emote cont r ols:
a.
Without pr essing the
SHIFT
button, you can
switch p owe r on/off in the sub zone.
b.
In
ZONE 2
, you cannot select
MULTI IN
in p uts.
Note
1 If the r eceive r is in standby, the dis p lay is dimmed, and
ZONE2 ON
continues to show in the dis p lay.

2 The tune r cannot be tuned to mo r e than one station at a time. The r efo r e, changing the station in one zone also changes the
station in the othe r zone. Please be ca r eful not to change stations when r eco r ding a r adio b r oadcast.
3 • You won’t be able to switch the main zone off com p letely unless you’ve switched off the MULTI-ZONE cont r ol fi r st.
• If you don’t p lan to use the MULTI-ZONE featu r e fo r a while, tu r n off the p owe r in both the sub and main r ooms so that this
r eceive r is in standby.
• Volume level cannot be adjusted with this r eceive r . Use the se p a r ate am p lifie r connected to the
ZONE2 OUT
to adjust the
volume.
