MULTI-ZONE listening
This r eceive r can p owe r u p to two inde p endent
systems in se p a r ate r ooms afte r you have
made the pr o p e r MULTI-ZONE connections. An
exam p le MULTI-ZONE setu p is shown below.
Diffe r ent sou r ces can be p laying in two zones
at the same time o r , de p ending on you r needs,
the same sou r ce can also be used. The main
and sub zones have inde p endent p owe r (the
main zone p owe r can be off while the sub zone
is on) and the sub zone can be cont r olled by
the r emote o r f r ont p anel cont r ols.
Making MULTI-ZONE connections
It is p ossible to make these connections if you
have a se p a r ate s p eake r s fo r you r sub zone
(
ZONE 2
).

The following table shows what you can listen
to in the sub zone:

• Connect a separate amplifier to the ZONE
2 AUDIO OUT jacks on the rear of this
receiver.
You should have a p ai r of s p eake r s attached to
the sub zone am p lifie r as shown in the
following illust r ation.

1 You can’t use sound cont r ols (such as the bass/t r eble cont r ols o r Midnight listening) o r any su rr ound modes with a se p a r ate
am p lifie r in the sub zone. You can, howeve r , use the featu r es available with you r sub zone am p lifie r .
