Causes and measures
Points to be checked
1
Check that RST# is H.
Check that the clock waveform
(24.576 MHz) signal is input to
the
N
ORTH CPU (IC601).
If it is not, the RESET IC (IC600) may be defec-
tive or improperly soldered. If the problem is not
resolved after it is resoldered, replace the IC.

Check if the waveforms for the
data bus and address bus
fluctuate between H and L.
If the waveforms do not fluctuate, communica-
tions among the flash memory (IC609), SDRAM
(IC610), and the
N
ORTH CPU (IC601) may not
be established. Check the mounting status of
the pins of ICs which are linked through the bus.

Check that the USB_CS# signal
is input to the USB controller
(IC706).
Check if the USB_CS# signal input to the USB
controller (IC706) fluctuates between H and L.
Resolder the IC if there is any poor connection.

W
hether each device of this product has been properly started or not can be checked either with the results displayed on
the LCD display with auto device diagnosis in Service mode or the status LEDs mounted on each main board of the
control and drive units. If the result of the auto device diagnosis or the status LED shows that some device is judged as
N
G, check the list below.
See *6 below for the auto device diagnosis screen.
Check if the clock signal (100
MHz) is output from the
N
ORTH
CPU (IC601). Also check if this
clock signal is input to the
SDRAM (IC610).
If the clock signal is output from the
N
ORTH
CPU but not input to the SDRAM, check if
connection is properly made. Correct any poor
connection you find.
If the clock signal is not output, go to [5].

If the clock signal is not input, the crystal
oscillator (X600) and its peripheral chips may
be defective or improperly mounted. Resolder
them. If the problem is not resolved, replace
them.
If the clock signal is not input, the crystal
oscillator (X701) and its peripheral chips may
be defective or improperly mounted. Resolder
them. If the problem is not resolved, replace
them.
