By setting the [CD Digital Direct] setting to "On" , internal circuitry
unrelated to CD playback can be bypassed to produce a higher quality
CD sound.
Settings: On (Bypass unnecessary circuitry for CD playback.)
Off (Passes through the necessary circuitry for DTS CD
playback.) (Factory setting)
Note
If this setting is set to "On" when a DTS CD is played back, noise is
produced.

Improving the Audio Quality of DVD-Audio Discs (Pure Audio Clock)
Expert
DVD-Audio discs differ from other disc media in that they can be
recorded with two different audio frequency systems, and these
frequencies will switch in different playback conditions. Higher quality
sound is achieved when the player automatically selects the 44.1 kHz
(44.1 kHz/88.2 kHz/176.4 kHz) and 48 kHz (48 kHz/96 kHz/192 kHz)
quartz-crystal oscillator in accordance with the sampling frequency of
the source being played back. However, it is also possible to turn off
the oscillator that is not being used. When this is done, there is no
interference from the unused oscillator and degradation of sound
quality can be prevented.
Settings: On (Select to have the unused oscillator turned off.)
Off (Select to keep both oscillators on to be used as
necessary. (Factory Setting)
Note
When the setting is set to "On" , images may be disrupted for a moment
due to frequency systems (44.1 kHz and 48 kHz) changes in the source
being played back.

Hybrid SACDs contain both SACD and CD audio on separate layers.
This setting determines whether these discs are played as SACDs or
as CDs.
