All pixels with grey value below the signal threshold value will be ignored. This filters out
the image background.

•

The width threshold is used in the calculation of the laser line width (see below). It has to
be higher than (or equal to) the signal threshold.

The LineFinder Algorithm has an additional configurable threshold called saturation hysteresis.
This feature becomes relevant when a lot of pixels in a laser line are saturated. In this case, the
algorithm starts counting saturated pixels at the first saturated pixel in a column, but only
stops counting when the pixel value drops below the saturation hysteresis threshold again.

The following output values are calculated column wise (see also Fig. 11.7):

Peak coordinate

Vertical coordinate of the laser line peak

Laser line width

The laser line width is the number of pixels that have a grey value above the

width threshold around the laser peak. If there are no pixels at the peak position that are
