4.1 Mounting the device on DIN rail
4.1.1 Stand-alone device

Assembly
• Place the device onto a grounded 35 mm DIN rail from above so that the upper housing
keyway hooks onto the top edge of the DIN rail (see Figure 4-1 A).
• Press the device carefully at the top of the housing towards the mounting surface.
• Once the snap-on foot has been audibly snapped onto the DIN rail, check that it is fixed
securely.
Removal
• Use a suitable screwdriver to release the locking mechanism on the snap-on foot of the
device (see Figure 4-1 B).
• Hold onto the device by the housing cover and carefully tilt it upwards.
• Carefully lift the device off the DIN rail.
WARNING: Explosion hazard when used in potentially explosive areas
For installation in potentially explosive areas, be sure to observe the safety notes in
Section “Installation in zone 2 (only PSI-MODEM-SHDSL/ETH)” on page 18
NOTE: Device damage
Only mount or remove the device when disconnected from the voltage!
NOTE: Malfunction
Connect the DIN rail to protective earth ground using a grounding terminal block. The de-
vices are grounded when they are snapped onto the DIN rail (installation according to
PELV). This ensures that the shielding is effective. Connect protective earth ground with
low impedance.
