Startup with PLCnext Engineer

Please note:

Startup for the operation of a redundant control system with two controllers is de

scribed below.

If you are operating your application with just one controller (“SingleMode” redundan

cy status), the startup steps are the same.

For startup in PLCnext Engineer, program the controller that manages the process (PRI

MARY controller).

Only

the PRIMARY controller is therefore visible in the

PLCnext Engineer application. After you have successfully compiled the PLCnext Engineer

application and transferred it to the PRIMARY controller, the PRIMARY and BACKUP con

trollers are synchronized with each other via the device’s internal SYNC interface. The

BACKUP controller will be started up automatically.

Please note

For the PRIMARY and BACKUP controllers to synchronize with each other, the follow

ing requirements must be met:
– Redundancy type “First” has been assigned to one of the controllers and redun

dancy type “Second” has been assigned to the other controller.

–

The controllers are connected together via the SYNC interface.

Installing PLCnext Engineer

The software can be downloaded at

phoenixcontact.net/product/1046008

Download the software (version ≥ 2022.0 LTS) onto your PC.

•

Double-click the *.exe file to start installation.

•

Follow the instructions in the installation wizard.
