ActiveSync
—ActiveSync enables you to connect to one or more
remote computers and synchronize your calendar, tasks, contacts,
and mail messages between Pocket Outlook on your Velo 500 and
Microsoft Outlook or S on the remote computer. You can
also synchronize files in the Synchronize Files folder on your Velo
500 with files in the My Documents or Personal folder on your
desktop computer.
PC Link
—The PC Link program manages the connection between
your Velo 500 and desktop computer. Use PC Link to connect,
disconnect, or check the status of the current connection.
Remote Networking
—Use Remote Networking to connect to an
Internet service provider or to a corporate network computer that
has been configured as a remote access server. After connecting to
a remote computer, you can browse the Web with Pocket Internet
Explorer and send and receive e-mail messages with Inbox.
Remote Networking can use either PPP (point-to-point protocol)
or SLIP (serial line Internet protocol) to communicate with a host
computer.
Terminal
—Use Terminal to connect to online services that
require TTY or VT-100 terminal emulation. For example, you
can view and download files from a bulletin board or send and
receive e-mail using your Velo 500 Terminal application.

—Calculate expenses, create reports,
or manage data using this application. In addition, you can track
an investment return or keep an up-to-date mileage log while
you’re on the road. Using Windows CE Services, you can transfer
spreadsheets from your desktop computer to your Velo 500 and
take them with you, or transfer spreadsheets from Pocket Excel
to Microsoft Excel on your desktop computer.
Microsoft Pocket PowerPoint
—Pocket PowerPoint lets you use
your Velo 500 to view presentations created on your desktop
computer. You can display presentations on the Velo 500 screen
or connect to a VGA monitor using an optional V-Module and
VGA PC Card.
