Phantom Flex Manual

Captured images are recorded as raw files and can be output in two basic
ways, as either HD Video or as native RAW files.

HD Video is available as either single link (4:2:2) or dual link (4:4:4) HD-SDI.
Playback can be directly from the camera or from the CineStation.

The RAW files are recorded on the camera’s internal RAM or onto a CineMag
and are uncompressed. The format is a Vision Research proprietary file struc-
ture called a Cine file. These Cine files can be converted to industry standard
DPX,TIFF, JPEG, DNG or CinemaDNG files with software provided by Vision
Research. IRIDAS Speedgrade and FrameCycler can also convert and color
correct Cine files. GlueTools Phantom CineToolkit can make Cine files avail-
able to any Mac program that uses QuickTime along with full Final Cut Pro in-
tegration. Hardware systems which support Cine files include FilmLight’s
Baselight and the Quantel Pablo, with others in development.
