Eccentric hook shaft bearing and hook-to-needle clearance
Requirement
1. The slot in bearing

(see arrow) must be visible from below and there should be a
slight but still noticeable amount of backlash between gears

and

.
2. When the hook is resting lightly on the spinning disc

and the point of the hook is
positioned towards the centre of the needle, there must be a clearance of
0.05 – 0. 1
mm
between the point of the hook and the needle groove.
