Caution
Before Setting Off:
-Check the tire pressure and electric
signaling of the caravan or trailer.
-Practice certain maneuvers,
particularly reversing.
Caravan and loading
Caravan - Trailer
Trailers / Loading gradually, avoiding harsh
braking.
Roof Rack
-Use an approved tow bar. Grease the
tow ball regularly.
Remove the tow ball when the towing
operation is over.
-Towing increases braking distance; drive
at moderate speeds,
change down to a lower gear in good
time, and brake
gradually ,avoiding harsh braking.
Caravan and loading
-Use only an approved roof rack or railing.
-Make sure it is fitted in accordance with
the manufacture’s instruction.
-Observe the roof load limit (50 kg) and
distribute loads evenly.
-Put the heaviest part of the load as near
as possible to the roof.
-Lash items firmly and flag loads which
overhang the vehicle.
-To transport a surfboard, use a surfboard
carrier and attach the front end with the
cord to the front towing ring, situated
under the front bumper.
-Drive smoothly; your vulnerability to
side winds will have increased.
-As soon as the load has been transported,
remove the rack.
TOWING VEHICLE
- Towing increases fuel consumption; use
a roof deflector.
- When towing a caravan or trailer remove
the blanking plate
from the front spoiler to allow increased
cooling.
