Removing the wheel
5- Disengage the wheel trim using the
wheel brace by pulling at the valve
aperture, or by using the tool clipped
onto the wheel brace. Loosen the wheel
bolts.
TIRE CHANGING
6- Put the head of the jack in jacking- point
appropriate to the wheel being changed.
Raise the jack and unscrew the wheel
bolts completely and remove the wheel.
Fitting the spare wheel
- Place into position and hand tighten
the bolts.
- Lower the jack and remove it.
- Tighten the wheel trim, aligning the
valve hole over the valve.
Press the trim fully home all round using
the palm of your hand.
- Place the punctured wheel in spare
wheel carrier and tighten the spare
wheel carrier bolt.
-Put back the jack, wheel wrench, and
the cover wrench on the foam .Use the
spare belt to hold firm the tire.
Warning
Check always the air pressure
immediately after changing the wheel
and make sure the nuts are well
tightened.
- Replace the punctured tire as soon
as possible.
- Punctured tire should be inspected
(and repaired if possible) by a technician.
- Park the vehicle on level, hard
ground (avoid parking on ceramic)
(use a bulkhead under jack’s shoes
if necessary) and turn on the hazard
warning flasher. Set parking brake
firmly and shift the gear from neutral
gear (gear one or rear gear or P
position for automatic gearbox). All
passengers should leave the vehicle
and go to place away from traffic.
Notice
Spare wheel is deemed as temporary
wheel (replacing in emergency
situations and tire puncturing) in
vehicles equipped with aluminum
wheels. So there is no problem if
the tire manufacturer and tire crown
of the spare wheel is different from
other aluminum wheel tires.
Caution
-The inflation pressure of the spare
wheel may not be correct. Drive
slowly and have the pressure
checked as soon as possible.
-Also check the wheel bolts are
correctly tightened.
-Have the punctured tires repaired
immediately so that it can be refitted
to the vehicle as soon as possible.
