2. TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION OF THE KSM BOILERS
2.1. Intended use
Steel heating boilers KSM are intended for installation in the
central heating water systems in single-family houses, garag-
es, maintenance rooms etc. These boilers belong to a group of
low- temperature boilers and are not subject to registration in
the regional O
ffi ce of Technical Inspection. They are intended for
operation in water distribution piping of the gravity hot-water
systems or in open systems with forced circulation, which are
equipped with protections in compliance with the requirements
PN-91/B-02413 applying to the protections of the open water
heating system (considering the Regulation of the Minister of
Infrastructure, Journal of Laws of 2009 no. 56 item 461).
2.2. Design description
2.2.1. Water casing
KSM heating boilers are made of steel sheet P265GH intended
for production of the pressure equipment operating in the el-
evated temperatures. The thickness of metal sheet of the body
from
fl ame side equals to 6 mm. Heat exchanger sheets are
welded from both sides and body sheets are reinforced with
supports. Location of convection ducts allows cleaning through
the upper cleaning hole. Ash and soot are removed through
the cleaning hole in the bottom part of the furnace chamber.
Design solution, that is the use of vertical
fl ue gas return and
three-draught design of the furnace, allows e ffi cient reception
of heat and high e ffi ciency.
2.2.2. Ash-pan doors (bottom)
Removal of ash formed during combustion process is possible
through the doors where the pellet burner is located.
2.2.3. Cleaning doors (upper)
Doors are intended for fi ring up a boiler, cleaning of the furnace
and upper part of the tubular heat exchanger.
2.2.4. Water jacket
The water jacket is a space fi lled with heating medium - water.
The structure is made of steel sheet P265GH for pressure equip-
ment intended for operation at elevated temperature.
2.2.5. Thermal insulation panels
Insulation panels fi xed on the surface of the water casing lim-
its heat losses to the environment. They are made of aesthetic
panels made of a zinc-plated metal sheet, painted with powder
paint ensuring high anti-corrosion protection. The modules are
lined with a mineral wool from the inside, which is used as an
insulation material.
