Residual risks
Even if you are operating this product in
accordance with all the safety require-
ments, potential risks of injury and dam-
age remain. The following dangers can
arise in connection with the structure and
design of this product:

Health defects resulting from vibration
emission if the product is being used over
long periods of time or not adequately
managed and properly maintained
•
Injuries and damage to property due to bro-
ken application tools or the sudden impact
of hidden objects during use
•
Danger of injury and property damage
caused by flying objects (expelled by the
chain saw)
•
Contact with exposed saw teeth of the saw
chain (cutting hazards)
•
Access to the rotating saw chain (cutting
hazards)
•
Unforeseen, abrupt movement of the guide
bar (cutting hazards)
•
Damage to lungs if no effective dust mask
is worn
•
Damage to hearing if no effective hearing
protection is worn
•
Skin contact with oil
Caution!
This product produces an
electromagnetic field during opera-
tion! This field may under some circum-
stances interfere with active or passive
medical implants! To reduce the risk of se-
rious or fatal injury, we recommend per-
sons with medical implants to consult their
doctor and the medical implant manufac-
turer before operating this product!
Care & Maintenance
Regular and proper cleaning will not only en-
sure safe use, it also prolongs the life time of
the machine.

Before performing any
work on the tool, remove the battery.
Caution!
Risk of injury by the saw
chain! Wear protective gloves.

Always:
∙ clean the machine after use.

Regularly:
∙ tension the saw chain. Particularly new
chains will stretch.
∙ clean oil guide groove in the guide bar.
∙ regrind the saw chain.
∙ check saw chain oil level and top up if
required.
Cleaning
- Clean the unit with a damp cloth and a soft
brush.
- Remove the chain sprocket cover
, and
then use a soft brush to remove debris
from the guide bar, saw chain, sprocket and
chain sprocket cover. Re-fasten the sprocket
cover.
- Keep the ventilation slits clean and free of
dust.
Caution!
Do not use water or liquid
detergents.
Cleaning oil guide groove in the guide bar
- Remove guide bar.
- Remove dirt from the oil guide groove using
a suitable tool. Use a plastic spatula, not a
steel tool!
- Re-attach guide bar.
Regrinding saw chain
Special tools are required to sharpen the saw
chain and guarantee that the blades of the
chain are sharpened at the correct angle and
to the correct depth. We recommend having
the saw chain reground by specialist.
Replacement Parts
Please quote the following data when ordering
replacement parts:
- Type of machine
- Article number of the machine
- Identification number of the machine
- Replacement part number of the part re-
quired.
Repairs
Check the unit for damage. Repairs may be
carried out by an authorised customer service
centre only.
Transporting the Power
Tool
Always switch off the power tool, remove the
battery, move the retaining latch to ‚locked‘
and fit the chain scabbard – even when you
carry the unit for short distances. This avoids
the risk of the motor starting unintentionally.
Carry the unit properly balanced by the drive
tube – cutting attachment behind you.
Transporting by vehicle
Properly secure your power tool to prevent
turnover, chain oil spillage and damage.
Storage
- Store the appliance in a dry and frost-free
place (10-25 °C).
- Store idle power tools out of the reach of
children.
- Store the battery and the appliance sepa-
rately.
- Charge the battery before storing the appli-
ance in winter.
- For a prolonged period of non-use always
drain the chain lubricating oil out the power
tool.
- Cover the saw chain with the cutting device
cover
- Keep the tool, in particular its plastic com-
ponents, away from brake fluids, petrol,
petroleum products, penetrating oil, etc.
These substances may lead to damage.
- Do not store the tool near fertilisers and oth-
er garden chemicals. Danger of corrosion.
