Activate the sample switch (pump runs 5 seconds) collecting an ambient air alcohol-free
sample.
Observe the display for a minimum of 10 -20 seconds. The display should not indicate any
alcohol present as projected on the bar graph while switched
in the “passive” sampling position.
Press sample switch and turn off the sensor (small green bar is out)
3) Set Mode Switch to either the “PASSIVE” or “ACTIVE” Setting Depending on which mode you
want to Calibrate first
Assuming the Air Blank test has been completed, set to the desired mode (PASSIVE OR
ACTIVE) for sampling the dry gas standard. Use 0.01% Dry Gas Concentration for either mode
. For Passive calibration this gas concentration will be set at the 0.10% bar on the display. For
Active/Direct this calibration gas concentration will be set at the 0.01% bar on the display.
Locate the calibration adjustment ports on the back of the instrument: Top port for passive
adjustments; bottom port for active/direct adjustments.
4) Sample the Dry Gas Standard (See Photo of Assembly for Guidance)
