EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FOR CHECKING PAS Vr. UNIT
The following items are required for checking the sensitivity/calibration
of the PAS Vr.:
1)
The PAS Vr. Alcohol Screening & Verification System
2)
Mark II A simulator (or similar model). (A Wet Simulator Cal-Pump is available
to provide reliable sampling).
3)
500 milliliters of 0.01% alcohol solution*
4)
Calibration Adapter (Passive mode calibration--A modified plastic mouthpiece is
used that connects the outlet of the wet simulator to the intake port of the PAS
Vr.) (Direct mode calibration--A regular Vr. mouthpiece is used to connect the
simulator outlet to the intake port of the PAS Vr.)
5)
PAS Vr. 9-volt alkaline battery.
6)
A jeweler’s screwdriver to adjust the fuel-cell sensitivity should it be necessary to
adjust the calibration.
*Premixed certified solutions are available from several sources including
PAS Systems International.
