If you wish to use a workstation with the SNMP Manager installed, or if you wish to set more
restrictive SNMP-NET access, you can use the access table to add the IP address of the PC’s
on which you wish to modify the access permissions (Figure 2-7). The communication protocol
between the shutdown software (SNMP-NET Client) and the SNMP-NET device is SNMP. The
administrator needs to maintain this table for all workstations to keep the UPS and the
workstations working correctly. The index 01 is a special design for all read only workstations.
SNMP-NET checks the community string first to identify that the incoming packet is read only or
not, if they are identical then SNMP-NET responses.
