SCANNDY TO CRADLE INTERFACES
There are two different communication methods available between Scanndy devices and Cradles.
RS232 interface (standard)
The RS232 interface is the standard communication interface for the cradle devices.
This is used to upload and download data to the Scanndy devices and it supplies the power
for the Scanndy device to charge it’s main battery and also to download Firmware and Software.
There are no further setups necessary for the main RS232 interface.
Bluetooth Class I interface (optional)
To provide the user with the most possible flexibility, PANMOBIL integrates an Bluetooth
Class I interface to the cradle devices as an option.
To pair the SCANNDY device to the cradle, simply scan the serial number barcode on the
bottom of the cradle device. After few seconds Bluetooth data exchange between the SCANNDY and Cradle
is established and the blue LED lights up on both devices. Hereafter the connection is established and the
devices are ready to communicate.
Once the devices have been paired, they will automatically reconnect to each other when connection was lost.
There is no further configuration necessary for the Bluetooth interface.
