PANTHERLINK

To use the file transfer or firmware upgrade functions, you must first install the 
corresponding drivers on your computer.  When using one of the PC interface 
functions on the LS8E for the first time, the computer will automatically detect the 
LS8E and begin the new hardware installation wizards.  Follow the on-screen 
instructions to complete the setup and installation.   
 
 

Installing the PanTherLink Firmware Upgrade Driver

 

 

1.  After PanTherLink is installed, connect the USB cable provided in the LS8-

PCKIT to the LS8E printer and to your computer. 

2.  Press and hold the F5 key, then press the POWER button on the LS8E 

printer.  This will activate the USB upgrade mode. 

3.  Your computer should automatically recognize the LS8E printer.  If your 

computer does not automatically activate the ADD HARDWARE WIZARD, 
you must manually initiate the ADD HARDWARE WIZARD through the 
START, SETTINGS, CONTROL PANEL function. 

4.  In the ADD HARDWARE WIZARD, select the automatic installation option. 
5.  When requested for the location of the LS8SYS.sys file, browse to the USB 

DRIVERS folder on the

 CD or in the application folder 

C:\Program Files\PanTherLink. 

6.  Select OK after choosing the LS8SYS.sys file. 
7.  If you get a message indicating that the driver is unsigned, select "Continue 

Anyway". 

8. Click 

OK. 

9.  Click FINISH to complete the installation.
