Symptoms
Check
No remote control operations can be
performed.
Check whether the batteries have discharged completely and, if they have
not, whether they were inserted properly.
Check whether the remote control sensor is exposed to an outdoor light or
a strong fluorescent light.
Check whether any obstacle is present between the remote control sensor
and the remote control. (see page 29)
If the installation condition is normal, pull out the remote control sensor
from the edge side of the main unit when using.
Check whether the remote control designed specifically for use with the
unit is being used. (The unit cannot be operated by any other remote
control.)
Check whether the option other than [Off] is not selected in [Controller user
level]. (see page 108)
Check whether [Controller ID function] is not set to [On]. (see page 106)
Check whether <ID MODE> switch is not set to <ON>. (When using ID
remote controller) (see page 153)
Multi-touch operations do not work.
Check whether [Touch screen settings] - [Touch screen] in the [Setup]
menu is not set to [Off]. (see page 76)
The touch panel is an optical device that uses infrared rays. External light
that contains a lot of infrared rays may cause a malfunction. Keep the light
source away from the touch panel as much as possible.
Fluorescent light: It causes no problem because it does not emit
infrared rays.
Sun light: Install it in a place where it is not subject to direct
sunlight.
Incandescent light: Infrared rays are contained in it and easily affected,
so keep the light source away from the touch panel
as much as possible.
The microcomputer in the touch panel may malfunction due to strong
external noise, so keep the noise source as far as possible.
[Controller ID function] function cannot
be used.
(When using ID remote controller)
Check whether [Controller ID function] is set to [On], or <ID MODE> switch
is set to <ON>. (see page 106)
(When [Controller ID function] is set to [On], you need to set <ID MODE>
switch to <ON> and set the ID number.)
The top or bottom of the picture on the
screen is cut off.
The image position has been adjusted in the [Position] menu.
Adjust the position of the picture on the screen.
(see page 67, 68)
There are areas at the top and bottom
of the screen where picture is not
displayed.
When using a video software program (such as a cinema size program)
with a screen wider than one in the 16:9 mode, blank areas separate from
the images are formed at the top and bottom of the screen.
Parts of the unit become hot.
Even when the temperature of parts of the front, top and rear panels has
risen, these temperature rises will not pose any problems in terms of
performance or quality.
There is no picture displayed or sound
output sometimes.
When HDMI or DVI signals are input to the Display using a selector or
distributor, sound or images may not be output in the normal fashion
depending on the selector or distributor used.
The symptoms may be improved by turning the power off and on again, or
by replacing the selector or distributor.
No picture is output from the device
connected to the DIGITAL AV OUT
terminal.
Input signals secured by copyright protection are not output from the
DIGITAL AV OUT terminal. (see page 28)
No sound is output from the DIGITAL
AV OUT terminal.
Check whether the volume is not set to “0”. (see page 34)
Check whether [Sound] - [Output select] is not set to [AUDIO OUT]. (see
page 28, 69)
