2.1.1 BGM (Background Music)

Description

A proprietary telephone (PT) user can listen to background music (BGM) through the built-in speaker while
on-hook and idle. The following audio sources are available:

a.

External music source

b.

Internal music source

c.

Outgoing Message (OGM)

BGM—External:

BGM can also be broadcast in the office through an external pager (loudspeaker) and can be turned on and
off by an extension assigned as a manager.

Conditions

[BGM]

•

Hardware requirement:

User-supplied music source (when an external music source is assigned).

•

The music heard through the PT is interrupted when going off-hook.

•

Each extension user can select the audio source.

•

Through system programming, it is possible to specify the maximum number of IP-PTs connected to a
V-IPEXT card that can simultaneously perform the BGM feature. Changing this setting may affect the
number of simultaneous IP extension and IP CO line calls available on the IPCMPR card.
