24.4.4.Bass and Treble adjustments

The Bass and Treble adjustments consist of two
separate filters. The control range of the bass filter is
±32dB, the adjustment of -12dB to +20dB is carried
out via the OSD. Likewise the control range of the
treble filter is ±27dB, the adjustment of -12dB to
+15dB being carried out via the OSD. The two filters
coefficients for the selected range are set to the
required

The

volume

modifications which occur during bass and treble
adjustments are stabilised by limiting the internal
volume, to prevent clipping, this limitation being
carried out via software.

Once the audio signals have undergone the various
bass, treble adjustments the signals are fed to the
volume and balance control circuits. Once again the
various adjustments are carried out via the remote
control with the adjustment settings being displayed
on screen. The balance control being switched OFF
when processing more than 2 channels.

24.4.5.Noise Sequencer

As mentioned earlier a noise generator is also
contained in the DPL3519A

IC2401

, which in normal

operating conditions is switched OFF.
The noise generator is used to set the individual
speaker levels of the L/R/C/S channels. To do this
pink noise is sent to one speaker at a time in rotation.
When the noise test signal is switched ON the input
audio signals are switched OFF by the internal
surround sound select switch.

24.4.6.Control

The DPL3519A

on the E-Board, this allows the microprocessor

to directly control the DPL3519A

signals just described is provided by an internal PLL
and external 18.432MHz crystal X2401 which is
connected to pins 51 and 52.
