CRTs which is required to cancel the effects of the
earth’s magnetic field.

Pin 78 - Mix Switch (

Wide Screen Only)

The mix switch control is responsible for the mixing of
the luma and chroma signals of an S-VHS input via
AV2 or AV3 when AV2 signal out has been selected.

Pin 79 - Chroma Switch (

Wide Screen Only)

The chroma switch control output from pin 79 of the
microprocessor

IC1101

is used to control the

switching transistors

located on the

M-Board. This control line which is fed to the M-Board
via connectors E16 and M1 pin5 is used to select
between the chroma signals input from the S-VHS
inputs of AV3 and AV2.

Pin 81 - LED

The standby LED D1071 located on the N-Board
(

D1061 located on the M-Board), is controlled via pin

81 of the microprocessor

IC1101

. In standby mode,

the pin is set to a HIGH level which causes

the E-Board (

on the M-Board) to switch ON

causing the standby LED to light up. Pin 81 is also
used to flash the standby LED when the Infra-red
remote control receiver receives a signal from the
remote control.

between PAL/NTSC (Negative modulation) and
SECAM (Positive modulation) standards selection
which is carried out in the I.F. stage.

between the two types of SECAM standards L/L’, this
control signal being fed to the Tuner / I.F. stage used
on SECAM L models only.
