3.9 Sensor Alert Mode
Sensor Alert uses the camera sensor functionality to automatically switch
monitoring cameras with sensor cameras.
Note
• The connected camera's built-in sensor, external sensor, and motion
detection feature can be used to trigger Sensor Alert. The camera must
have at least one of these features in order to use the camera for Sensor
Alert.
• When the sensor is activated the sensor indicator will flash.
• If the alarm is on, the alarm will also indicate that the sensor has been
activated (see page 53).
• The camera’s built-in sensor detects heat variations which occur from the
sides with more accuracy than variations which approach the camera.
• The detection range of the built-in sensor may increase or decrease
depending on the temperature and environment where the camera is
installed.
• When connecting an external sensor to an HCM series camera, refer to
the camera's operating instructions for safety and other information. In
order to use an external sensor for Sensor Alert, the sensor must be
connected to pin 1 and the ground pin. If using a switch, make sure the
switch is a break-type switch (i.e., a switch that is off/inactive when the
switch has not made a detection), otherwise Sensor Alert will be triggered
when the switch has not made a detection.

Press MENU .
• The menu is displayed.

Select [Sensor Alert] and press ENTER .
• The Sensor Alert Screen appears.
