Cautions and Warnings
CAUTION:
Disconnect all power cords before servicing the M-500 appliance.
WARNING:
To avoid risk of explosion, do not replace the battery with an incorrect type. Dispose of
used batteries according to the battery manufacturer’s instructions.
WARNING:
Removal of the equipment’s top cover is to be done only by Palo Alto Networks trained
service person(s).
Interpreting the Port LEDs
Each Ethernet port on the M-500 appliance has two LEDs. Table 3 describes the LEDs.
Replace a Disk Drive
The following procedures describe how to replace a disk drive on an M-500 appliance. The
M-500 appliance has 24 disk drive bays. Starting from left to right, the bays are labeled A1 to
L2. Each pair of drives are in a RAID1 configuration. For example, A1-A2 is a RAID1 pair, B1-
B2 is a RAID1 pair, and so on.
