Corrective Measures
Defective PL-1000RO
1.
Use a short fiber to connect the
PL-1000RO Rx connector to its Tx
connector. (A signal generator
may be required as the
PL-1000RO does not generate
signals by itself.)
2.
If the LOS LED is still lit, replace
the PL-1000RO.
3
The LED of the local
PL-1000RO port is red.
Cable connection
problems
1.
Check for proper connections of
the cables to the PL-1000RO Tx
and Rx connector.
2.
Repeat check at the remote
equipment.
High Signal Level
1.
Check the
Receiver Input
Power
of the optical module
(see
)).
2.
If the power is too high, add an
attenuator.
Defective optical module 1.
Check for optical module alarms.
2.
Replace the optical module.
Fiber problem
1.
Check the
Receiver Input
Power
of the optical module
(see
)).
2.
If the power is too low, replace
the fiber.
Defective PL-1000RO
1.
Check the PL-1000RO alarms.
2.
If there are alarms, replace the
PL-1000RO.
Defective remote
equipment
1.
Use a different remote unit.
2.
If the problem is solved, replace
the remote unit.
4
The equipment attached to
the LAN port of the local
PL-1000RO cannot
communicate with the
remote PL-1000RO over the
WAN.
Problem with the
connection to the LAN
1.
Check that the LINK LED of the
corresponding LAN port lights. If
not, check for proper connection
of the cable to the LAN port.
2.
Check that the
Admin Status
of
the MNG port is
Up
and that it is
operating properly.
3.
Check that the IP information of
the remote PL-1000RO is
configured correctly (for
example, the default gateway).
External problem
Check the IP configuration of the
external equipment (for example,
the gateway address) that is
connected to the local PL-1000RO
LAN port.
Defective PL-1000RO
Replace the PL-1000RO.
