VENT CONNECTION
It is preferred to attach venting before framing begins. Once the
fireplace is in position proceed to attach the venting. (see Fig # 10)
The flexible vent pipe may be stretched to accommodate various
lengths of venting. Stretch and/or cut to length as required.
The 4 inch flexible inner pipe must be centred inside the 8 inch pipe
with pipe spacers provided. Pipe spacers should be installed at
maximum 2 foot intervals. (see Fig. # 11) Spacers may have to be
closer if pipe is bent 90°.
1) Bend pipe spacer around the 4 inch inner pipe. With ends of
spacer overlapped, bend locking tabs into place. (see Fig. # 11)
2) Slip the 4 1/2 inch pipe clamp loosely over the inner flex pipe.
Slide the pipe a minimum 1 1/2 inches over the inner sleeve collar of
the appliance. Clamp tightly in place (see Fig. # 10). No additional
seal is required. Secure in place with screws provided.
3) Slip the 8 inch outer flex pipe onto the larger collar and secure in
place with screws provided. Seal the joint with high temperature
sealant provided.
