Unpacking and setup
•
The machine must be placed on a level surface that can support the total weight of the
machine and liquid.
•
To prevent vibrations, the machine should be placed on an elastic base, e.g. a rubber
mat.
•
For stationary use, the machine can be fixed to the base with 4 screws.
•
For use with garden ponds or pools, the machine must be set up in a way that
prevents flooding and protects against falling in. Legal requirements must be
observed.
•
The setup site must be well ventilated and protected from the weather.
•
When using the machine indoors, there must be a drain in the floor or a leakage
device.
•
Before starting, check the suction hose to make sure it is tight. Air bubbles in the
suction hose indicate that there may be leaks, which can lead to a malfunction of the
machine.
Installing the suction hose
Risk of damage to the machine!
The suction hose must be installed so that it does not exert any mechanical force
or tension on the pump. If the liquid to be pumped is contaminated, a suction filter
must be used to protect the pump from sand or dirt.
Note: A check valve must be used so that the water does not run out when the pump
is switched off.
•
All connections must be sealed with packing compound (Fermit) and hemp or sealing
tape; leaks cause air leakage and reduce or prevent water leakage.
•
Hemp must be used for threaded metal pipes; synthetic threads must be sealed with
thread sealing tape.
•
All suction hose components must be installed by a qualified professional.
•
The suction hose should have a diameter of at least 25 mm and it must be resistant to
kinking and suitable for vacuum.
•
The suction hose must be as short as possible, since the suction capacity decreases as
the length of the line increases.
•
The suction hose should ascend steadily towards the pump to avoid air pockets.
•
There must be sufficient water, the end of the suction line must always be in water.
