VISUAL FAULT LOCATOR (VFL) OPERATION
The OWLTrek II OTDR contains a visual fault locator port used for quick
troubleshooting of optical faults close to the near-end of the optical fiber
under test.
The 2.5mm universal VFL port is located on the left-hand side on the top of
the OTDR.
OPERATING THE VFL
Press the Enter key (
) until the MENU function option appears.
Press the VFL soft key to toggle through the different VFL modes.
The VFL status icon will appear on the trace screen above the trace area as
shown at right:
