10.5 Precautions on the explosionproof specification

10.5.1 About the explosionproof

Special conditions to use the explosionproof equipment safely:

- Prohibition of altering the part constituting the explosionproof performance

Part constitutes the flameproof: Display (glass) – body/terminal lid – parts screwed on the body

Side lid – spigot joint of the body

- Special class of the fastening screw to fix the side lid shall be

“

A-0

”

- Transmitter shall be used only in the position specified in the instruction manual.

- The cable gland shall be screwed in for at least threads completely.

- Electric capacitance of the label shall be nF max. and to avoid charging of static electricity. Use a

wet cloth to clean the label.

10.5.2 About handling of the flameproof enclosure

The enclosure of the transmitter is a flameproof configuration. In order to maintain the explosionproof

performance, due attention to the followings is required.

- About the part screw applied of the flameproof enclosure:

The part screw applied of the flameproof enclosure is the critical part to maintain the explosionproof

performance. Hence, due care is required so that such part is not damaged or foreign materials are

not mixed in. If any damages or such are found, please contact our service center.

- About side lid (bonded surface of spigot joint) of the flameproof enclosure:

Side lid (bonded surface of spigot joint) of the flameproof enclosure is the critical part to maintain

the explosionproof performance. Normally, opening this part by user is prohibited. If it is accidentally

opened in maintenance or such, do not damage it and avoid having foreign materials in it. Tightening

screws of strength class A-0 are used on the side lid. In case of replacement or missing, please

contact our service center.
