3. Note the setting of the platen adjustment lever and move it to the back.
(It will be reset later.)
4. Locate the two latches (illustrated below) on each end of the bracket
that holds the forms compressor. Also locate retainers on each end of
the platen.
The latches lock into the square holes on each end of the forms
compressor and the retainers secure it in position.
Note: Flipping the paper load lever backward/forward a few times may
help you locate the latches and retainers, and understand the
mechanical movement of the forms compressor. Also, note that
the old forms compressor does not need to be removed prior to
installation of the new one. Insertion of the new one dislodges
the old one and allows it to be removed.
5. Slide the new forms compressor down in front of the old, ensuring the
mylar faces away from you. Guide it around the printheads and
retainers.
