4.6 COMPUTER CONNECTIONS

Install the driver provided with the GPIB/USB cable from National Instruments. Connect the cable
to the GPIB connector on the back of the LIDA and tighten the connections. Plug the USB
connector into the computer. If successfully installed, the computer’s Device Manager will display
“GPIB USB HS”.

For computers which have a GPIB card, a standard GPIB cable may be used. This cable is
available from Newport as model 70038, and is ordered separately.
