OPTIKON 2000
Pressing the CLR key will immediately eliminate the photographs that have just been
acquired whose quality is not satisfactory, that clearly moved or were taken when the
patient blinked.
It is advisable that, as your first training experience, you take 6-8 pictures on the
same eye and to check their repeatability by
Acquire
,
Repeatability Check
” menu,
until this is good.
As a standard procedure, you are then suggested to take 3-4 pictures per eye in
order to check repeatability, and then to save only the best one (or two)
Warning
During the measurement, to move the Keratron
™
Piccolo use
the slit lamp's joystick instead of the instrument's knob.
While an image is being acquired, the software will emit a series of short beeps
whose tone and rhythm vary: this is an acoustic signal for the user while he aligns the
eye to capture its image.
Learning to recognize the different sounds will allow the user to concentrate better on
the image that appears on the monitor instead of on the LED indicators A very
specific beeping will occur at the correct focus position.
To quickly and reliably acquire an image, move towards the eye past the optimal
focus position, ask the patient to blink and then open both eyes wide; while pressing
down on the footswitch, slowly move away so that the image is automatically
acquired. If the patient blinks, discard the photo and repeat.
It is possible to obtain the same result by using the virtual OK key: during acquisition,
if it is pressed and then you move the topograph
slowly
to capture the image, when
you have reached the correct distance, the software will automatically acquire the
image without you touching the footswitch.
