Transmitting a Polling Request Call
4. The position information appears. Press [▲] or [▼] to input the
position data (Latitude and Longitude) directly, then press [ENT].
5. Channel 70 is automatically selected and “READY” appears in the
channel comment display.
6. Press [ENT] to transmit the Position Report call. If Channel 70 is
busy, the transceiver stands by until the channel becomes clear.
7. After te Position Report call has been transmitted, return to normal
operation.
When a Position Report call is received:
1. “DSC” and “POS” appear.
Latitude and Longitude scrolls in the channel comment display.
“NO POSITION” scrolls in the channel comment display when
no position information is received.
2. The beeps sound. Press [CLR] to stop the beeps.
Transmit a Polling Request call when you want to know a specific
ship is in the communication area or not.
1. Press [MENU] to enter the DSC menu.
2. Press [▲] or [▼] to select “POLL REQUEST”, then press [ENT].
3. Press [▲] or [▼] to select a desired pre-programmed individual
address or “MANUAL INPUT”, then press [ENT].
The ID code for the individual should be set in advance.
When “MANUAL INPUT” is selected, press [▲] or [▼] to set the
9-digit MMSI ID code for the individual you wish to call.
4. Channel 70 is automatically selected and “READY” appears in the
channel comment display.
