Using TAPE (MONITOR) Button
If a 3-head tape deck is connected to this unit, the recording can be
monitored.
If the TAPE MONITOR indicator is not lit, the sound from the
source (the sound that has not yet been recorded) is heard.
If the TAPE MONITOR indicator is lit, the sound that has been
recorded can be heard.
To turn the TAPE MONITOR indicator on or off, press the
TAPE (MONITOR) button.

If MULTI-CH INPUT is selected, the monitor function is dis-
abled.

Refer to the tape deck instruction manual for more details.
You can connect a graphic equalizer to the TAPE jacks on the rear
panel.
If a tape deck is used, connect it to the tape jacks on the graphic
equalizer.
Press the input selector button for the desired source, then
press the TAPE (MONITOR) button.
The TAPE MONITOR indicator lights up.
Follow the graphic equalizer operating instructions.
To record an equalized signal, use the tape deck connected to the
equalizer.
To turn the TAPE MONITOR off, press the TAPE (MONITOR)
button again. The TAPE MONITOR indicator turns off.
CAUTION:
•
Do not use a Surround mode together with the equalizer. Other-
wise, distortion may occur, which may damage the Surround
decoder circuitry.
